DOT SAP Evaluations

Freedom Trek offers DOT SAP evaluations to individuals who have received a Department of Transportation substance abuse violation.

This often occurs as a result of a random or pre-employment urine drug screening which tests positive. When this occurs, the employee is removed from safety-sensitive duties until they complete the DOT SAP Return to Duty Process.

The DOT SAP process consists of a comprehensive assessment by a qualified DOT SAP (Substance Abuse Provider). Based upon the results of the assessment, the SAP will make several recommendations for treatment which may range anywhere from community education to treatment. Once the employee has completed the SAP’s recommendations, the SAP will write a letter to the employer informing them that the employee has completed the DOT SAP process. The employer is then free to return the employee to safety-sensitive duties.
